Most people prefer not to have their full SN all over the internet. 'Sure it's a Kahr K9, serial number ZY1234 I did see a guy around the vehicle earlier that looks like that dsmithurst fellow they were showing pictures of on America's Most Wanted.' 'Can you provide the serial number so that we can put out an alert for it and get it into the stolen guns database?' 'Hi, my truck was broken into and I had a handgun stolen.' The other reason people don't usually like their full SN out on the internet is: Refer back to my caveat about Kahr above. (Your K9 is in there now.) You will see that things aren't always sequential.
If you don't have the original case-collection envelope with the 'born-on' date of firing at the factory you can use the table to get a pretty good idea of how old the gun is. Unfortunately, traditional 'sequential' thought also often has little bearing to Kahr Arms, but sometimes you can get close.
Except in the case of long-run (but few built) custom guns, the last 2 digits have little bearing as to get the idea of manufacture date.
